Granny Square Lap Quilt: Normally, when you think of granny squares, you think of beautiful crocheted blankets, but did you know you can quilt them as well? The granny square is one of the most basic traditional quilt blocks. As with the crochet version, you can create little explosions of color peacefully contained within solid squares. Join us for a take on this classic design!

Limited to 4 students (17 yrs of age or older)

Level:  Easy Intermediate.  You know how to thread a machine, sew a straight line and wind a bobbin. Our first couple blocks will be entry level patchwork and as the months progress they'll become more intricate. We can challenge ourselves together!

We provide:  The pattern, the studio space, tools and expertise.

You bring: Fabric you love!  2 yards of a background color fabric, a fat quarter bundle of at least 8 different prints/colors or 1/4 yard cuts of at least 8 prints/colors, either a 2 yard piece of 60 inch batting or a 1 3/4 yard piece of 90 inch batting, 2 yards of fabric for the backing and 1/2 yard of fabric for the binding. Don't forget we offer 15% off materials purchased for class.

Class length:  3 hours for each session, meets twice for a total of 6 hours. There will be homework between sessions. (Second session meets on July 15th, 2012.)
