We're Hiring!

New Year, New Team

If you have been considering applying to work at gather here now is the time. We have a number of positions that we are looking to fill and one of them might be perfect for YOU.

Part-Time Craft Associate Positions

If you love making things and love to help other folks that love to make things find the perfect fabric/fiber and notions then this could be the position for you! Experience in a retail environment is beneficial because even though we have this really fun and inclusive environment, we still ring up purchases, process payments, and deal with inventory. Knowledge of a variety of fiber crafts is essential - people will need help casting on/off, figuring out how to wind a bobbin, and how to finish a granny square all in the same day. You can view the full job listing on Hire Culture.

Sewing Machine Technician

If you love fixing things and also love sewing machines (sewing isn't required but it sure is a cool skill to have) then apply to be a machine technician. The work schedule is fairly flexible and because we believe really great sewing machines are true investments we take training our technicians very seriously. All gather here technicians must attend Bernina training outside of Chicago to become certified to service and repair Bernina machines. We pay for the week long training, the flight, and accommodations. There are additional trainings to become adept at overlock machines, embroidery machines, and the longarm. Children's Program Instructor

If you have a background in education or working with children and love sharing your sewing and fiber arts knowledge with young people you should consider applying to be one of our instructors. Our kids after-school program meets Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM and Saturday mornings from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM. We also have day camps and week long vacation camps throughout the school year as well as week long summer camps for eight weeks of the summer. You can view the full job listing on Hire Culture.
